Mr. Linton “Buddy” “Slim” Taylor, 81, of Hazlehurst, died Sept. 12 at his residence.
Mr. Taylor was born May 31, 1937, in Jeff Davis County to the late Emery Taylor and the late Idell Herrington Taylor. He was a retired farmer, also was retired from Hazlehurst Mills and a member of Hazlehurst Pentecostal Church. He is preceded in death by his sister, Jeleama Davis.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Faye Creamer Taylor of Hazlehurst; daughters, Bonita Taylor (Tony) Blewer of Hazlehurst, Pam Hughes of Hazlehurst, Tammy (Jerry) Braun, of Hazlehurst, Cheryl Hyers (Tony Blair) of Hazlehurst; son, Greg (Penny) Toler of Douglas; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held Sept. 15 in the chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home with the Rev. Thomas Colter officiating. Interment followed in Satilla Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers were the staff and nurses of Comfort Care Hospice.
Active pallbearers were Greg Carroll Toler, Brandon Yawn, Lee Yawn, Shane Partin, Jimmy Joe Davis and Brandon Fletcher.
Musical selections were rendered by April Saunders.
Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home was in charge.
