Mrs. Eunice Spell Johnson, 80, of Hazlehurst, died Aug. 9 at her residence.
Mrs. Johnson was born May 10, 1938, in Jeff Davis County to the late Gaines Erastus Spell and the late Mattie Hand Spell. She was the owner and operator of the Rebel Drive In and member of First Baptist Church of Hazlehurst. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Johnson and sisters, Louise Ryles, Myrtle Herrington and brothers, Raleigh Spell and Loyal Spell.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Tim Taylor of Hazlehurst; son and daughter-in-law, Shawn and Caina Johnson of Hazlehurst; sisters, Jewel White and Corene Grosse; brothers, L.W. Spell and Donnie Spell; grandchildren, Anna (Gunner) Jackson, Kara Taylor, Cain Johnson and Matilda Johnson; several nieces and nephews.
Services were held Aug. 11 at First Baptist Church of Hazlehurst with the Rev. Brad Waters and the Rev. Jeffery Spell officiating. Interment followed in Satilla Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Gunner Jackson, Triston Carter, Kevin Taylor, Jason Taylor, Brian Reagin and Berry Grosse.
Musical selections were rendered by Beverly Swain, Christan Edwards, Jeffery Spell, Jimmie Ryles and Allen Ryles.
Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home was in charge.
