Mrs. Janet (Jan) Mae Brown Davenport, 56

With her feisty, independent spirit and great sense of humor, Janet (Jan) Mae Brown Davenport lived fiercely by her convictions until her unexpected passing on July 18, 2018, in Sugar Hill, Ga, at the age of 56.
Jan will be lovingly remembered by her parents, Kathryn Bohannon and Donald (Erlys) Brown, her children, Donnie (Coco) McGuire and Shawn (Megan) Davenport, her granddaughters, Pacely Mae and Kenna Lee, her sisters, Cathy (Gary) Miller and Cindi (Brent) Brown, her nieces and nephews, Jaime (Sven), James, Hillary, Garrison and Luke, and her great nephew, Dylan and great niece, Ella.
Selfless and self-made, Jan was brilliant at creating things: beautiful children, cross-stitched masterpieces, fine back cherry wine; masterfully crafted and painted wooden toy boxes and crocheted afghans.
Jan generously shared her heart, her art, and her natural story-telling abilities with family, friends, her close-knit community of neighbors and her beloved cats, Beckett, Nash, and Kitty McGuire. In return, she was loved by all.
A Celebration of Jan’s Life will be held Saturday, July 28, at The Farmhouse at McCollough’s, 417 S. Houston Lake Rd. in Warner Robins, from 1-4 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, send donations to The Humane Society Animal Shelter, 3370 Sugarloaf Parkway, Lawrenceville, Ga., 30044, or Doctors Without Borders, P.O. Box 5030, Hagerstown, MD, 21741 (online: donate.doctorswithoutborders.org).
