Mrs. Eulain Wheeler Elton, 97

Mrs. Eulain Wheeler Elton, named Willie Eulain Wheeler at the time of her birth, 97, of McDonough died peacefully at her home April 28 from complications of congestive heart failure.
Eulain was born Dec. 3, 1920, in Jeff Davis County, the daughter of Willis Seaborn Wheeler and Ruby Mims. Growing up on a farm, she was an avid gardener all her life. She also enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking, and serving others
In 1941, Eulain married her first and only love, John Ridd Elton. After John’s service in the Army during WWII, they moved to Atlanta. In addition to raising three daughters, she was an active member of Lakewood Baptist Church and volunteered for the PTA. Her passion was her family.
Eulain is survived by daughters Teresa (Gary) Akin, Melinda (Clay) Young, and Betty Elton; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and other family members and friends
There will be a private graveside service for family members at Campground Methodist Church in Nicholls. Roger Johnson will lead the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her name can be sent to Campground United Methodist Church, Nicholls.
Crosby Funeral is in charge of arrangements.
