Hazlehurst Attorney Lamar “Buck” A. Elder Jr. this week announced his plans to retire and close his law practice effective Dec. 30, 2026.
In announcing his retirement after almost 50 years in Hazlehurst, Elder said, “Serving as an attorney for the residents and businesses in this area has been one of the greatest privileges of my professional life. This town has been my home and my life’s work, and so many of you have been more than clients — you’re neighbors, friends, and in many cases, families I’ve now worked with across generations. I am deeply grateful for the trust and confidence you have placed in me over the years, and for the opportunity to assist you through so many important moments in your lives.”
