Three qualify for Ward 4 seat

Three people have qualified to run for the Ward 4 position on the Hazlehurst City Council to replace former Ward 4 council member Landon Chavis.
Qualifying to run in the Nov. 3 Special Election were John Bloodworth, Yashiaca K. Brown and Eric Carelock.
Early voting for the election opens Oct. 13. Early voting will be conducted at the Public Safety Precinct, which is located in the County Elections office on Cromartie Street (the old Jeff Davis Sheriff’s Department building).
On election day Nov. 3, Ward 4 voters can cast their ballots at their normal county voting site or at the Public Safety Precinct. The county voting site for Ward 4 voters will have ballots for both the general election and the City of Hazlehurst Ward 4 Special Election.
