Cross Country goes to Lyons, Cartersville

The Jeff Davis High and Middle School cross country teams ran last Thursday at the 6th Annual Toombs Bulldog Invitational in Lyons, and Saturday at the 11th Annual Wingfoot XC Classic in Cartersville.
Thirty-three teams competed in Lyons.
Brandy Castro topped the JD middle school girls with a 5th place finish in the 2-mile run in a time of 14:01.92. Erick Rubio topped the Jeff Davis Middle School boys, finishing 7th in a time of 12:29.18.
Angel Pineda finished 20th in the high school 5K in a time of 19:41.15. Kevin Barrios was close behind in a time of 19:47.49.
Thirty-three high school boys teams ran in the Wingfoot with the Yellow Jackets finishing 27th.
Eric Trejo was the first to finish for the Jackets, finishing 102nd in a time of 18:07.9. There were 228 boys in the race. Other Jackets running and their places were 114. Mario Franco, 142. Will Morris, 148. Luke Relihan and 195. Bryan Hulett.
The Lady Jackets finished 18th among 32 teams led by Ellie Kate Marchant who finished 16th in a time of 20.26.1. Other Lady Jackets and their finish among 219 participants were 84. Avery Haley, 112. Laysie Lewis, 150. Christina Wilcox, 153. Marley Powell and 160. Jade Franco.
Graysie Lewis topped the jayvee girls, finishing 35th in a time of 24:36.4. Other runners were 56. Aurie Taylor.
Peyton Hamilton had a 50th place finish to top the jayvee boys. Others running were 89. Carter Yawn, 109. Jesse Galvan, 242. Harrison Miller, 245. Clayton Maxey,
