Mr. Mark Durden Rowland, 89

Mr. Mark Durden Rowland, 89, of Griffin passed away March 28.
Mark was born July 29, 1935. His parents, George Rowland and Ocie Key Rowland; wife Charlotte Kimbrel Rowland; sisters Nadine Rowland and Georgia Mae Broach; and son Scott Rowland preceded him in death. Mark served in Vietnam before retiring from the U.S Navy and worked for Brown and Williamson in Macon.
Survivors include his daughters Amy Rentz (Hazlehurst), Bonita Abernathy (VA), and Regina Abbott (Eatonton); sons Mark David Rowland (VA) and Paul Padgett (Jackson); brother and sister-in-law, Peyton and Edith Rowland (Hazlehurst); sisters Carolyn Herndon (Hazlehurst) and Colleen Ringle (Augusta); and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A visitation will be held April 2 from 2 to 3 p.m. at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home followed by a service in the chapel. Interment with full military honors will be at Griffin Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Mark’s honor be made to Georgia War Veterans Home in Milledgeville.
