Deacon Arthur Lee Myles Sr., 81

Deacon Arthur Lee Myles Sr., affectionately known as “Bob-B,” was born June 3, 1943, in Toombs County to John and Elvira Myles. He was a middle son to their 13 children Willie S. J. Phillip, John Henry, Curtis, Richard, Robert, Rudolph, James, Leroy, David, Lelar Pearl White, and Louise Carter. His dedication as a hard worker and provider began at an early age, when he quit school after his freshman year to help his father provide for their family. He served as a lineman for the United States Army and earned several decorations and commendations before being honorably discharged in 1970. He was a dedicated member of Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church for 40 plus years, serving as a financial officer and the designing architect who built the sanctuary that stands today. During the latter years of his life, he continued to serve the Lord as a member of Kirkland Grove Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and several heartfelt roles to help others until the Lord called him home.
