Mr. Randolph H. ‘Randy’ Murray, 68

Mr. Randolph H. “Randy” Murray, 68, of Hazlehurst passed away May 28 at his residence.
Mr. Murray was born Nov. 12, 1954, in Jeff Davis County to the late James Rudolph Murray and Louise Long Murray. Randy was a people person. He loved his family, friends, and any strangers he met. When meeting him you were never a stranger long because he made sure he knew you before you left his presence. He is also preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Murray; mother-in-law Jane Burress; brother-in-law, Joe Burress; maternal grandparents, John B. and Chattie Ryals Long; and paternal grandparents, Grady and Vera Lee Crawford. Mr. Murray was a member of Hazlehurst Church of God.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Lee Murray of Hazlehurst; daughter, Kayse Murray of Hazlehurst; sons, Randy (Audrey) Murray of Douglas, Will (Tina) Ford of Helena, and Josh (Amanda) Ford of Eastman; sister, Linda (the late, Gene) Richardson of Lumber City; brothers Kenneth (Vickie) Murray of New London, N.C., Wendell (Janis) Murray, of Lawrenceville; honorary brother, Dwaine (Virginia) Wilcox; and eight grandchildren.
Services were held May 31 at Hazlehurst Church of God with Pastor Shon McEachin and Pastor John Nunes officiating and eulogies by Jimmy Boatright and Melodie Browning. Interment followed in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Chris Murray, Dewayne Wilcox, Mikey Richardson, Michael Browning, Steve Walters, Donald Dixon, and Ricky Griffin.
Honorary pallbearers were Trucks, Inc., Mike McBroom, Larry Conaway, Joe Hopwood, Wendell Pickren, Michael Pickren, and Johnny Burkett.
Music was rendered by Charles Brantley, Tina Brantley, Hugh Brantley and Cale Brantley.
Swain Funeral Home was in charge.
