Mrs. Erma Youngblood Turner, 98

Mrs. Erma Youngblood Turner, 98, of Lumber City, passed away April 23 at her residence surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Turner was born on March 1, 1925, in Lumber City. She is the daughter of the late Ed and Gertrude Burkett and adopted parents, the late Robert and Sallie Youngblood. She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Turner; daughter, Carol Powell; infant twin daughters; son-in-law, Malcom Powell; daughter-in-law, Betty Turner; and great-great grandson, Grady Hayes. She was a member of Lumber City Baptist Church and a dedicated prayer warrior for her family and friends.
Mrs. Turner is survived by her daughter, Brenda (Chester) Powell of Lumber City, and Ricky Turner of Hazlehurst; grandchildren, Jerry Powell, Cathy Varnadoe, Connie Gillis, Diane Heath, Kevin Powell, Wendy Powell, Jennifer Wilcox, Brad Turner, and Tyler Turner; 18 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation and services were be at Lumber City Baptist Church April 25 with the Rev. John Daughtry, the Rev. Johnny Taylor, the Rev. Ashley Tyree, and the Rev. Ryan Clements officiating. Burial was at Riverside Cemetery in Lumber City.
Active pallbearers were Terry Brown, Bobby Brown, Jerry Nester, Glynn Stinson, Kim Ussery, Gary Webster, and Merle Webster.
