Mrs. Carolyn Settles, 87

Mrs. Carolyn Settles, 87, of Hazlehurst, passed away Sept. 15 at Hazlehurst Court Care and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born April 26, 1939, in Eastman to the late Milton D. Coleman and Winnie Stevens Coleman. Carolyn had been a resident of Hazlehurst for more than 45 years and was a member of Philadelphia Church of God in Valdosta. She enjoyed shopping, attending church and, most of all, spending time with her grandchildren. Carolyn was known for her sprightly personality and spirited, spitfire nature. She was a loving mother and grandmother who cherished her family and the time they shared together.
In addition to her parents, Carolyn is preceded in death by her daughters Myra Tribble and Kathy Worthington; sons Terry Tribble and Richard Jason Settles; and several brothers and sisters.
Carolyn is survived by her husband of 50 years Richard Settles of Hazlehurst; sons Alex Settles of Hazlehurst and Tim Tribble (Rene) of Vidalia; daughter Tracy Hulett of McRae; 10 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Services were held Sept. 18 in the chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home with the Rev. Johnny Taylor officiating.
Burial followed in Helena City Cemetery in McRae-Helena.
Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home was in charge.
