Ms. Mildred Joan Hand, 86

Ms. Mildred Joan Hand, 86, of Hazlehurst, passed away July 29.
Ms. Hand was born April 4, 1940, in Manchester to the late Walter Winfred Phillips and Marie Louise Bowen Phillips. She was a dedicated homemaker who found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially working in her yard and cooking delicious meals for her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sons Mike Hand and Bobby Hand.
She is survived by her daughter Cathy Parlor (Brian Newberry) of Brunswick; son Jerry (Carolee) Hand of Hazlehurst; five grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held Aug. 2 in the chapel of Swain Funeral Home in Hazlehurst with the Rev. Johnny Fulghum Sr. and the Rev. Tyrone Hutchinson officiating. Interment followed at Bridgeford Church of God Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Landen Parlor, Joshua Parlor, Kevin Hand, Matthew Daniels, Robert Highsmith and Johnny Fulgrum Jr.
Swain Funeral Home Hazlehurst Chapel was in charge.
