Mr. Thomas Fulton Hughes Sr., 81

Mr. Thomas Fulton Hughes Sr., 81, of Glenwood, passed away July 29 at his residence.
Fulton was born July 14, 1945, in Jeff Davis County to the late Onis Fulton Hughes and Vera Mae Sellers Hughes.
He was a truck driver, enjoyed the outdoors and in his younger years loved fishing. He enjoyed working in his yards, watching old westerns and listening to Southern Gospel music and the 70’s Oldie Goldies. On any afternoon, when he felt like it, you could find him in the back yard “piddling,” always looking for something to fix. He had a sweet nature about him. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them, especially the love of his life, Orene. His family said they were two peas in a pod and loved going to church together.
Surely, he will be missed by all that loved and knew him.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Orene Lee Tanner Hughes, daughter Linda Marie Hughes, sisters Essie Mae McNeal and JoAnn McNeal, brothers Edward Hughes and Carlton Hughes.
Mr. Fulton is survived by his sons Tommy Hughes of Glenwood and Jenkins (Jackie) Hughes of Cave Springs; sisters Gail Thornton of Hazlehurst and Belinda (Larry) Carter of Hazlehurst; grandchildren Dana (Andy) Giddens, Shelby Hughes, Rachel (Austin) Powell, Hannah Hughes, Jordynn Hughes, Brooklyn Grogan and T.J. Hughes; great-grandchildren Addison, Kazleigh, Kayden, Kami, and ElliAnna; several nieces and nephews.
Services were held Aug. 1 in the chapel of Wainright Parlor Funeral Home with the Rev. Andy Williams officiating.
The family extends a special thank you to the Rev. Andy Williams, the team of Regency Southern Care Hospice and DaMostAmazing LLC Home Care Services, for doing a wonderful job of taking care of Mr. Fulton.
The Hughes family can be contacted at the residence of his sister, Belinda Carter at 792 Satilla Church Road, Hazlehurst.
Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home was in charge.
