All Star Teams have a good season

The Jeff Davis County Recreation Department’s All Star Teams had a busy month in June playing in the Georgia Recreation and Parks Association (GRPA) District 2 Tournaments and those teams that qualified played in the GRPA State Tournaments.
The Jeff Davis Youth Baseball Program brought home three State Championships in 2026 as the 10U, 12U and 14U teams all took state titles.
The Jeff Davis 10U Machine Pitch Softball Team played in the State Tournament in Screven County. They fell 13-12 to host Screven County and lost 11-3 to Reidsville.
The Jeff Davis 10U Machine Baseball Team won the State Class C Championship in Baxley, sweeping the tournament without a loss. They opened with a 6-3 win over Fitzgerald, defeated Telfair County 10-0, downed Jenkins County 11-2 and topped Telfair County 11-0 in the tournament finals.
The team won the District 2 Tournament without a loss as well. Playing in Alma, they won 4-3 over Alma/Bacon County, 9-2 over Pierce County, 8-0 over Telfair County and 2-1 over Telfair in the district finals.
The Jeff Davis 12U Baseball Team played in the State Tournament in Morgan County and swept through the tournament without a loss. In the opening round, Jeff Davis rolled over Screven County 16-1, then topped Adel/Cook County 11-2, defeated Evans County 7-2 and in the finals topped Screven County again, 12-1.
The 12U team qualified for the State Tournament by winning the District 2 title. Playing in McIntosh County, they defeated Appling County 16-1, Clinch County 8-0, Long County 8-0 and Appling County again, 11-0.
The Jeff Davis 14U Baseball Team played in the State Tournament in Morgan County and also rolled through the tournament without a loss. They downed Screven County 9-5, Long County 15-0, Glennville 8-0 and Adel/Cook County 15-6.
The 14U team took a long road to win the District 2 championship. After downing Telfair County 8-0 and Pearson 6-5, they lost 9-1 to Long County to drop into the losers bracket. There they downed Pearson again 5-3 to get a berth in the finals against Long County. Jeff Davis defeated Long 8-0 and 11-8 to win the District Title.
The Jeff Davis softball teams played in the Class C District 2 Tournaments but the 10U Machine Pitch team was the only one to qualify for the State Tournament. The 10U team rolled over Telfair County 20-5, defeated Brantley County 16-3 and topped Alma/Bacon County 16-2. But in the finals Pierce County defeated the Jeff Davis girls twice, 21-13 and 19-11.
The Jeff Davis 8U Machine Pitch Softball Team lost two games in the district tournament as they fell 19-0 to Telfair County and 20-5 to North Bryan County.
The Jeff Davis 12U Girls opened the District Tournament with a 20-0 win over McIntosh County, then lost 11-1 to Alma/Bacon County, bounced back to win 25-6 over North Bryan County and 17-6 over Long County before falling 10-4 to Appling County to finish 3rd.
