Crime Victims’ Rights ceremony is April 22

April 19-25 marks the 45th anniversary of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week (NCVRW). NCVRW is a time-honored tradition that recognizes the plight of victims and survivors, and elevates their voices so when they speak, America can listen and learn. District Attorney Keith Higgins and the employees of the Victim-Witness Assistance Program encourage communities to embrace this year’s theme: Listen.ACT.Advocate. Protect Victims, Serve Communities.
The Brunswick Judicial Circuit will have a Memorial Wall in each county in the circuit on display the entire week. Families, friends and loved ones are encouraged to visit your county’s location and write in the guestbook on display along with photos of loved ones lost. Each county will have a memorial program. Victims and family members are encouraged to reach out to the District Attorney’s office to update the advocates if you have moved or changed phone numbers or locations.
The Jeff Davis County program will be held April 22 at 5:30 p.m. at the Jeff Davis County Courthouse.
