Mrs. Eunice Burns Faulkner, 89

Mrs. Eunice Burns Faulkner, 89, of Hazlehurst, passed away March 15 at the Pavilion in Baxley.
Mrs. Faulkner was born Aug. 7, 1936, in Jeff Davis County to the late David Burns and Pairlee Ellis Burns. She was a faithful wife, a loving mother and a wonderful homemaker who devoted her life to caring for her family. She loved to read, especially books about South Georgia, and enjoyed spending quiet time with a good story. She was a great cook and a hardworking woman who took pride in everything she did. During the years she and her husband lived in Florida and owned and operated a citrus grove, he managed the planting while she handled the business side as the secretary. Above all, she loved her family dearly and her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Omer Gene Faulkner; sister Mary Doris Trowell; and brothers Clarence Burns, David Burns and Joe Burns.
Survivors include her son Ronnie Gene Faulker of Hazlehurst; daughter Janice Lee Faulkner of Hazlehurst; grandchildren Ronnie Faulkner Jr., David (Renea) Faulkner, Leah (Brian) Stanley, Steven (Ashton) Faulkner and Jessica Faulkner; great-grandchildren Destiny Faulkner, Lily Delgado, Lucas Faulkner, Rayson Faulkner, Nathan Faulkner, Peyton Stanley, Liam Stanley, Emma Faulkner and Eben Faulkner.
Graveside services will be held March 18 at 1 p.m. in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Brian Stanley officiating.
Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home is in charge.

I was searching for family history and ran across this obit. Eunice was my great aunt and I remember her when I was a small child. George (Buddy) Hay is my father.
One of my memories was being at their home in Immokalee riding a 3-wheeler I should not have been on with a cousin. I flipped it and my shoe blew off. Uncle Omer Gene and Uncle Odis thought it was fantastic…Aunt Eunice did not.
She was always a nice lady to me the few times I was around her
