New Seeking Reelection

It is with great enthusiasm that I am seeking re-election for the Jeff Davis Board of Education seat in the Ocmulgee/5 District.
I am the daughter of the late D.L. and JoAnn Jump. My husband of 48 years is Tony New and we have one daughter and son-in-law, Casey and Cody Williams. I also have one grandson, Chap Walker Williams.
I am proud to be a life-long resident of Jeff Davis County. I am retired from Southern Nuclear Company (Pant Hatch) and an active member of Lighthouse Christian Fellowship Church, where I serve as the Ladies Ministries President.
It has been an honor and privilege to serve as your board member for the last four years. I have committed myself full-time to helping have a safe and successful school district by supporting all our children, parents, school system employees and community.
It is with my sincere gratitude to have community members and constituents ask me to seek re-election. I am excited and prepared to serve you another term and to be an integral part of our school district.
It is my prayer that everyone goes to vote on May 19, 2026. To those of you in the Ocmulgee District, please remember “a vote for Shannon Jump New is a vote for you.”
