Mr. David Rozal Powell, 68, of Denton passed away Feb. 23 at his residence under the care of Regency Southern Care Hospice.
Mr. Powell was born Nov. 4, 1957, in Jeff Davis County to the late Robert Rozal Powell and the late Othella Owens Powell. He was a member of Denton Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Mr. Powell was owner and operator of David’s Woodworking and found great joy in creating children’s furniture. He was always excited to see a child select the perfect rocking chair, tea set table, toy box or swing.
Survivors include his wife Mary Powell; daughter Jessica (Shawn) Folk; son Delvin Powell; sister Angela (Joey) Browning; grandchildren Kadence Folk, Gabriel Folk and Allie Powell; special daughter Crystal Texeira; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life was held Feb. 26 at Denton Baptist Church with the Rev. Patrick Owens, the Rev. Kenny Hutcheson and the Rev. Randall Kersey officiating.
Honorary pallbearers were Rodney and April Miller, Wesley and Beth Willis, Buddy and Myra Rea, Wayne and Bobbie Davis, Hunter and Lindsey Miller, and Colby and Drew Hughes.
Swain Funeral Home was in charge.
