Mr. Robert Lee Westfall, 87

Mr. Robert Lee Westfall, 87, of Hazlehurst, passed away Feb. 21 at Amber Grove Griffin Park Facility in Claxton.
He was born June 23, 1938, in Spencer, W. Va. He was a veteran of the United States Army and worked for the New Smyrna Beach, Fla., Police Department for 20 years. He then retired from the Volusia County Sheriff’s Department as a deputy after another 20 years of dedicated service. Robert was a member of Oakland Baptist Church.
Robert is preceded in death by his sisters, Shirley Sheppard and Norma Harper; and brother Arden Ray Westfall.
He is survived by his wife Shirley Westfall of Hazlehurst; sons Chris Westfall (Michelle) of South Daytona, Fla., and Steven Brown (Amanda) of Dawsonville; daughter Donna Gove (David) of Hazlehurst; brothers Larry Westfall (Kathy) of Edgewater, Fla., and Ivan Westfall (Ollie) of West Virginia; sisters Rita Winters (Sherman) of Crown Point, Ind., Donna Keeton and Peggy Lesson; grandchildren Addison Brown, Beau Westfall, Trevor Westfall, Mitchell Westfall, Matthew Westfall and Robert Westfall; and several great-grandchildren.
Services were held Feb. 24 in the chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home with the Rev. Stan Taylor officiating and military honors rendered by the Jeff Davis County Veterans Association.
Burial followed in Hazlehurst Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Florida State Fraternity of Police, 242 Office Plaza, Tallahassee, Fla. 32301.
Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home was in charge.
