Mrs. Virginia Lee Toumbleston, 81

Mrs. Virginia Lee Toumbleston, 81, peacefully went home to her Lord and Saviour Dec. 31 surrounded by family.
Virginia was born Dec. 7, 1944, in Hazlehurst. She was a merchandise examiner and forklift driver for J.C. Penney for 30 plus years until retirement. After retirement she worked at Sam’s as a product demonstrator. She was the most loving, selfless, giving mother, Nana, sister and friend. She gave her all without expecting anything in return. She enjoyed cooking for her family, shopping, drinking coffee and Pepsi, and listening to music. She traveled to South Georgia several times a year to spend time with her sisters and brother. She was the true matriarch of her family as she lived her life with grace, faith and strength. Our Mama, Nana, and sister leaves behind a legacy of love and we are all blessed to have had her for 81 years. Go rest high on that mountain Mama, we will see you in the morning!
Virginia is preceded in death by her mother Linnie Mae Hand Rowell and father Alton Jessie Hughes.
She is survived by her children Wadis Toumbleston (Kristen) of Griffin, Stacy Toumbleston (Sissy) of Griffin, and Kimberly Bowden (Danny) of McDonough; grandchildren Stacy Toumbleston Jr. (Brittany) of Locust Grove, Joshua Toumbleston (Rachel) of Jasper, Dustin Toumbleston (Kalie) of Locust Grove, Austin Bowden (Sidney) of Jackson, Hannah Bowden of McDonough and Luke Walsh of Griffin; great-grandchildren Theo Toumbleston, Kinsley Toumbleston, Hudson Toumbleston, Emelia Toumbleston, Colter Toumbleston and Analeigh Bowden; and siblings Jessie Deen of Thomasville, Linda Capps of Douglas, Roy Hughes of Hazlehurst and Kathy Hewett of Hazlehurst.
