Mrs. Lynda Joyce Johnson Newell, 79

Mrs. Lynda Joyce Johnson Newell, 79, of Hazlehurst, passed away Dec. 5 at her residence under the care of Community Hospice.
Mrs. Newell was born Feb. 24, 1946, in Tifton to the late Seaburn Hedgepath Johnson and the late Fanny Pearl Cooksey Johnson. She was a homemaker who loved her family and especially her grandchildren, gardening, and flowers. She was preceded in death by her husband Jesse Newell, son Robert Morris, grandson Austin Morris, brothers Bobby and Jimmy Johnson, and daughter-in-law Eve Morris.
Survivors include her daughters Judy (Bloyce Coy Jr.) McDaniel of Hazlehurst and Carolyn Wills of Dublin; sons David Morris and Jesse (Sherry) Newell Jr. both of Hazlehurst; brothers Billy Johnson and Donald Johnson both of Hazlehurst; cousin Bessie Newell of Hazlehurst; special granddaughter Cindy (James) White; 19 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Dec. 9 at Graham Church of God with the Rev. Don Dixon officiating. Inurnment followed in Hazlehurst City Cemetery.
