Mr. Stephen Chad Mims, 44

Mr. Stephen Chad Mims, 44, of Hazlehurst, passed away Nov. 21 at HCA Florida Memorial Hospital, after an extended illness.
Stephen was a lifelong resident of Hazlehurst and a member of Mims Baptist Church. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, racing ATVs, and offshore boat racing. He also loved spending time with his fiancée and his family.
He is preceded in death by his mother Patsy Laveren Mims.
Survivors include his fiancée Loretta Morrison; father Henry Monroe Mims; son Ethan Ryan Mims; daughter Jacielynn Patsy Mims; brothers Richard Henry Mims and Brandon George Mims; sister Lana Cheri Mims; nieces Patsy Kansas Powell and Amara Mims; nephews Aidan Mims and Jacob Nelson; great-nephew Jetson Lopez; and a special aunt Faye (Henry) Watson.
Services were held Nov. 25 at Mims Baptist Church in Alma, with Charlie Kight and the Rev. John Thomas officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ethan Mims, Timer Morrison, Bone Morrison, Aiden Mims, Justin Yawn, Broom straw, Rusty Harper, Chris (Bit) Carter, and Corey Long.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the Jeff Davis High School Class of 2000 and all in attendance.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Nobles Funeral Home.
Nobles Funeral Home was in charge.
