Mr. Terry Allen Crawford, 60

Mr. Terry Allen Crawford, 60, of Hazlehurst, passed away Nov. 16 at Hazlehurst Court Care and Rehabilitation Center.
Terry was born Feb. 23, 1965, in Hazlehurst to the late Verlyn Wade Crawford and Betty Ann Wood Crawford. He was a lifelong resident of Jeff Davis County and attended Hazlehurst Church of God of Prophesy. Terry was happiest outdoors, kayaking down the river, fishing or camping under the trees he loved so much. A gifted cabinet builder and talented wood-whittler, he worked with his hands in a way that brought beauty and purpose to everything he touched. He had a true green thumb and could make anything bloom, from flowers and rose bushes to banana trees.
He enjoyed hunting for and crafting arrowheads, learning about Native American history and attending the Pow Wow celebrations at Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park in Macon. Terry also loved fast cars, guns and collecting antiques. He was funny, adventurous, strong-willed and lived life with a spirit uniquely his own.
Above all, Terry was proud of his boys and deeply loved his grandchildren. To his sons, he was more than a father — he was a protector, a teacher and a steady guiding hand. He taught them how to work hard, stand strong in their beliefs, treat others with respect and love without condition. He showed them how to fish, how to hunt, how to grow things and how to become the kind of men who care for their own families with the same strength and devotion he showed them. In their eyes, Terry was a real-life superhero, someone who believed in them even when they struggled to believe in themselves. As his son shared, “My dad taught me everything I know in life except how to live without him.”
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by paternal grandparents Grady and Vera Crawford; maternal grandparents Woodrow and Maxine Wood; and granddaughter Nevaeh Grace Crawford.
Terry is survived by his sons Dusty Crawford (Moe) of Cincinnati, Ohio, Jason Crawford (Kelsey) of Hazlehurst, and Wesley Crawford of Hazlehurst; brother Michael Crawford (Toni) of Vidalia; sisters Cheryl Mihovilich (Richard) of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and Sherry Worth (Perry) of Hazlehurst; grandchildren Kayden Kelly, Zion, Amarri and Payton Crawford; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held Nov. 20 in the chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home with the Rev. Randy Manning and the Rev. Josh Ogletree Sr. officiating. Burial followed in Hazlehurst Memorial Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Richard Davis, Josh Ogletree Sr., Michael Crawford, Doug Murphy, Carl Sanders and Jesse Worth.
