Mrs. Wanda Elaine Rowland-Morrison, 78, of Hazlehurst, passed away Nov. 2 at her home.
She was born Jan. 7, 1947, in Hazlehurst to the late Harris B. Adams and Omie Mealer Adams, and she spent her entire life in Jeff Davis County. She was formerly a member of Union Springs Baptist Church and was currently a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church.
Mrs. Wanda loved watching baseball and Jeopardy, and she was happiest spending time outdoors — gardening, feeding her pet squirrels and wild birds, or casting a line to fish. She was always busy and was known for her strong work ethic and energetic spirit. She loved cooking and entertaining her family, and her loved ones fondly remember her saying, “Come over, I’ll cook.” Known affectionately as “Ninnie” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she was cheery, giggly and full of life, always joking and bringing laughter wherever she went.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son Clint Lewis Sr.; and her sister Bernice Adams.
Survivors include her husband Mason “Pedro” Morrison; grandchildren Clint Lewis Jr. and Ashley Lewis (Josh Edwards), all of Hazlehurst; great-grandchildren Cole Harrison Lewis, Alexis Leanne Lewis and Holly Addison-Jean Lewis; great-great-grandchildren Hank Byczkoski and Waylon Byczkoski; and several other special family members.
Services were held Nov. 7 at Philadelphia Baptist Church with the Rev. Jinker Horton officiating.
Burial followed in Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Clint Lewis Jr., Phillip Morrison, Robert Morrison, Richard Morrison, Gary Medders and John Morrison.
Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home was in charge.
