Yellow Jackets play Nov. 14 in Cochran
Jeff Davis High’s football team will play next Friday (Nov. 14) in Cochran in the first round of the 2025 Georgia High School Association Class A, Div. I playoffs.
The Yellow Jackets, seeded No. 19 of the 32 playoff teams, will battle No. 14 seeded Bleckley County. Jeff Davis carries a 7-3 record into the game after finishing 4th in the tough Region 1. Bleckley County (8-2) finished 3rd in region 2.
Region 1 has 6 teams in the playoffs and Region 2 has 7 teams in the playoffs. Eight of the 10 2025 Yellow Jacket opponents are in the playoffs: Class A, Div. I teams No. 3 Worth County, No. 9 Fitzgerald, No. 13 Thomasville, No. 21 Bacon County, No. 25 Washington County and No. 31 Berrien, and Class A, Div. II team Charlton County
Jeff Davis and Bleckley played two mutual opponents this season — the Yellow Jackets defeated Washington County 21-20 in overtime in the season opener while the Royals topped Washington County 44-26. The Jackets defeated Rutland 42-6 while Bleckley downed Rutland 35-13.
The winner of the Jeff Davis-Bleckley game will play Nov. 21 against the winner of the Worth County-McNair game.
