Mrs. Wanda R. Hurley, 87

Mrs. Wanda R. Hurley, 87, of Hazlehurst passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home Oct. 2. She was the devoted wife of the love of her life, H. K. “Kenny” Hurley, to whom she was married for 68 years.
Wanda was born May 11, 1938, and grew up in the mountains of Ramsey, W.V., and later moved to Hazlehurst and attended Hazlehurst High School. She was a member of Union Springs Baptist Church, where she was very involved in church activities.
She earned the nickname “Nannie Wanda” & “LuLu” from the grands & great -grands, that she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her mother Elizabeth Emogene Kight, and father George E. Ramsey, sister Kaye Mann, half-siblings Stephanie Krause, Donnie Kight, Jonny Kight & Jimmy Kight, husband Kenny Hurley, son Ken Hurley, grandson Kyle Ussery and brother-in-law Harry Hurley.
Survivors include her daughter Sharon (Dane) Ussery of Hazlehurst; son Wayne (Alena) Hurley of Hazlehurst; half-sister Arlene Kight Baucom of Warner Robins; grandchildren Todd (Valarie) Ussery, Brandi (Eric) Spell, Kacey (Brittany) Hurley, Kayla (Rick) Hall, Kellie (Josh) Hollingsworth; great-grandchildren Chase Ussery, Kyleigh Grace Ussery, Zack Ussery, Lindsey Coleman, Ross Hall, Jayden Hall, Kaden Spell and Kyler Spell, Kenley Hurley, Silas Hurley, Noah McNeal, Josie Hollingsworth, Addilyn Hollingsworth, and Emma Hollingsworth; great-great grandchild Mayley Miller; sisters-in-law Emily Beecher and Sue Williams; brothers-in-law Jerry Hurley and Jimmy Hurley; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held Oct. 6 at Union Springs Baptist Church in Snipesville with daughter Sharon Ussery giving the eulogy and the Rev. Merle Webster and the Rev. Van McCall officiating. Interment followed in Union Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
Music was rendered by Angie McCall.
Active pallbearers were Kaden Spell, Ross Hall, Josh Hollingsworth, Todd Ussery, Kacey Hurley, and Gage Norris. Kyler Spell and Jayden Hall followed with candles.
Honorary pallbearers were the staff of Coastal Hospice of Hazlehurst &and the members of Union Springs Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to Jeff Davis FFA, 156 Collins Street, Hazlehurst, GA. 31539.
Swain Funeral Home was in charge.
