Mrs. Annie Carolyn Newman, 85

Mrs. Annie Carolyn Newman, 85, of Hazlehurst passed away Sept. 25 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Newman was born July 4, 1940, in Snipesville to the late Jacob Walter Anderson and the late Annie Evelyn Lamb Anderson White. She was the last charter member of Macedonia Church of God. Mrs. Newman worked in secretarial services for many years with Ken D. McLeod, CPA, and Newman Logging. Mrs. Newman loved to bake and put up vegetables from her garden, and she enjoyed vacationing at her beach house.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John Martin Newman, daughter Melaine Newman Simmons, sister Betty Jean Anderson and brothers Paul Anderson and Roger Anderson.
Survivors include her son Clay (Johnsie) Newman of Lumber City; brother Allen (Jean) Anderson of Denton; grandchildren Rachael Newman, John Casey (Kayle) Newman, Sarah (Cody) Mikell; and great-Services were held Sept. 29 at Macedonia Church of God with the Rev. Van McCall and the Rev. John Casey Newman officiating. Interment followed in Palms Memorial Gardens.
Active pallbearers were Gary Newman, Donnie Newman, Chris Newman, Brian Hampton, Eli Birkhahn and Dwayne Anderson.
Honorary pallbearers were all friends and family in attendance.
Music was rendered by Angie McCall and Derrell Wright.
