JD Forward Meets
This past Thursday, the 2026 Class of JD Forward met for the first time. JD Forward is the county’s premier leadership development program for adults, hosted by the Chamber of Commerce. The program is designed for professionals seeking to enhance their leadership knowledge and contribute to the community, thereby helping to fill the leadership roles needed today and tomorrow. The Chamber thanks all the businesses and organizations participating and especially Chamber member Manna Café and Eatery for being the 2026 Class Meal Sponsor!
Class members include:
Mary Susan Arnold – Special Education Director, Jeff Davis County Schools
Renee Causey – Operations Support Specialist, Bank of Hazlehurst
Jayme Crosby – County Administrator, Jeff Davis County Board of Commissioners
Josh Horton – Director, Jeff Davis County Recreation Department
Brandy Miller – Admin Assistant and EMA Clerk, Hazlehurst-Jeff Davis County Fire and Rescue
Mandy Powell – Branch Manager, Renasant Bank
Candice Reynolds – Administrative Coordinator, Development Authority of Jeff Davis County

The group will participate in seven sessions, like the one last week, travel to Atlanta to meet with legislators, complete a volunteer service project in the community, tour sites in the county, and more.
