Mr. Daniel Wesley Atkinson, 80

Mr. Daniel Wesley Atkinson, 80, of Snipesville passed away June 22 at his residence under the care of Regency Southern Care Hospice.
Mr. Atkinson was born Dec. 30, 1944, in Denton to the late Daniel Lott Atkinson Sr. and the late Mary E. Moon Atkinson. He loved fishing and retired from the Jeff Davis Road Department and was a retired truck driver. Mr. Atkinson was preceded in death by a son, Yancey Duane Atkinson; brothers Milton Atkinson, Daniel L. Atkinson Jr., and Donnie Atkinson; and sister Verna Sue Kendall.
Survivors include his daughter Sheila Smith Carter; brothers Ronald Atkinson and Billy Atkinson; sisters Bernice Atkinson and Betty Sue Crawford; granddaughter Kelsee Leggett; and great-grandchild Karson Hill; favorite cousins Linda Woodson and Pam Sherrell; several nieces and nephews; and a dedicated friend, Wilbur Dykes.
A graveside service was held June 25 at Denton Cemetery with Jim Girtman officiating.
Swain Funeral Home was in charge.
