Mrs. Estelle (Snookie) Caves, 90

Mrs. Estelle (Snookie) Caves, a cherished mother, grandmother, aunt and respected member of her community, passed away peacefully at the age of 90 on Dec. 25 at McRae Manor Nursing Home.
She was born Aug. 13, 1934, in Coffee County to the late Wiley and Vastin Hutchinson Swails.
Estelle was preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Tommy (Buck) Caves; brothers Glenn Swails, Ronald Swails; sisters Naomi Nelson, Ruby Tindall and Laila Trowell.
Estelle’s life was a testament for the love of her family and friends. She was a dedicated member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
Survivors include children Johnny (Shirley) Caves, Melcene (Tommy) Beasley, Wiley (Gloria) Caves and Paula Anderson; grandchildren Lamar (Annie) Caves, Greg (Martha) Caves, Sherry (Jimmy) Clark, Melissa Beasley, Russell (Rena) Beasley, Brandon (Erin) Caves, Cory (Amanda) Caves, Melanie Cater, and Benjamin (Kari) Bridges; numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held Dec. 28 in the chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Wooten officiating.
Music included “Wayfaring Stranger” and “This Is Just What Heaven Means To Me” rendered by vocalists Erin Caves and Amanda Caves with Terry Brown on piano, Donnie Ricketson on mandolin and Brandon Caves on guitar. Interment followed at Douglas City Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Russell Beasley, Greg Caves, Brandon Caves, Cory Caves, Benjamin Bridges and Caden Cater.
Flowers were accepted, but memorial donations may be made to Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, Denton, Ga. 31532.
