Mrs. Barbara Ann Morton, 85

Ms. Barbara Ann Morton, 85, of Hazlehurst, passed away Jan. 1 at her home.
She was born June 22, 1939, to the late Aldie and Ethel Hill Adams. She was a true southern, classy, Christian lady who loved reading her Bible and watching her son Barry and her grandson Shane on Sunday morning live preaching the Gospel. She previously attended Bible Baptist Institute in Graceville, Fla., and she was a member of Clayton Baptist Church in Clayton, Ala. She was an avid reader and especially enjoyed love and romance novels.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Beverly Morton; great-grandson Cadence King; sister Geraldine Adams; and brother Hoyt Adams.
Survivors include sons Tim (Tracy) Mason of Hazlehurst and Barry (Pam) Mason of Tallahassee, Fla.; daughter Shari (Tommy) Traylor of Dothan, Ala.; brothers Billy (Doris) Adams of Ohio, Jimmy (Judy) Adams, and Lynn (Linda) Adams, all of Florida; grandchildren Shane (Rachel) Traylor, Cory (Candice) Mason, Ashley (Dylan) Davis, and Kayla (Justin) King; and great-grandchildren, Garrett, Bekah, Kanlee, Ellie, Ally Grace, Barrett, Camden, Greyson, Brooklyn, Callie, Bailee, and Kayden.
Services were held Jan. 6 at Rocky Creek Church of God Cemetery with the Rev. Barry Mason and the Rev. Shane Traylor officiating.
Active pallbearers were Tommy Traylor, Garrett Traylor, Cory Mason, Justin King, Dylan Davis, and Stacy Merritt.
Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home and the Morton family were in charge.
