Mr. Richard ‘Ricky’ Hampton Brewer, 73

Mr. Richard “Ricky” Hampton Brewer, 73, of Lumber City, passed away Oct. 4 at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas.
Mr. Brewer was born Nov. 21, 1950, in McRae to the late Merritt Brewer and the late Rebbie Toumbleston Brewer. He was a retired supervisor with Hazlehurst Mills and was also formerly employed with Lance Cracker Co. Mr. Brewer was a member of Shelton Chapel but attended Lumber City Baptist Church. He was a true southern family-man who loved working in his yard and enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He was also a dedicated member of the McDonald’s Coffee Club.
In addition his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Elbert Toumbleston, Howard Brewer and Thomas M. Brewer, and nephews Brian Brewer and Silas Crosby.
Survivors include his wife Susan Parlor Brewer of Lumber City; son Chad (Camey) Brewer of Hazlehurst; sisters Diane Coley of Gray and Paulette (Mike) Williams of Hazlehurst; brother Emory “Buddy” Brewer of Lumber City; grandchildren Levi Brewer, Carleigh Brewer and Sadie Jo Brewer, all of Halzeurst; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held Oct. 8 at Lumber City Baptist Church with the Rev. Ashley Tyree and the Rev. Glynn Stinson officiating. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Jason Coley, Clay Crosby, Bruce Parlor, Chris Parlor, Brandon Parlor, Daryl Breedlove, Tony Breedlove and Scott Conner.
Music was rendered by Regina Tyree and Ashton Townsend.
Swain Funeral Home was in charge.
