Mrs. Jeannie Carter, 65

Mrs. Jeannie Carter, 65, passed away Aug. 7 at the Community Hospice in Vidalia.
She was born in Baxley Aug. 21, 1958, to Hilliard and June Carter and had lived in Jeff Davis County most of her life. She had worked as a deli clerk at Piggle Wiggly in Hazlehurst. Mrs. Carter loved to travel, play the piano and enjoyed gardening. Her favorite pasttime was spending time with her family. She was of the Church of God faith and is preceded in death by her parents and her son, Michael Hand.
She is survived by her son Jonathan D. Hand; daughter Rachel N. White; siblings Danny Carter, Mark (Cindy) Carter, Suann (Jack) Rowell and Joy Carter; five grandchildren; several great grandchildren; special niece Brandie Carter and several other nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be announced later.
