Mrs. Melissa Ann Rowland Hughes, 53

Mrs. Melissa Ann Rowland Hughes, 53, of Hazlehurst, died Aug. 18 at her home.
She was born June 22, 1971, to Arvin and Dorothy Carter Rowland. She was a member of Cromartie Church of God. She loved the beach and the river as well as going fishing and camping. She loved everybody and tried to help everyone she could. She also loved her chihuahua, Sweet Pea. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include sons Brandon and Dustin Rowland, both of Hazlehurst; brother Greg Rowland of Lumber City; grandchildren Levi, Madison, Lexi, Brailyn, Logan, and Brant Rowland; niece Amber Yawn and husband Jonathan; nephews Garrett Rowland and Brent Miller; great-nieces Sydney and Alyssa Yawn; and cousins Victoria, Molly and Nora Foskey, Ann and Jeff Johns, Larry, Terry, Gary, James, and Gene Rollins, Ben, Hubie, and Aron Robertson, Samantha, Dakota, and Nick, Dennis, and Josh Smith.
A memorial service will be held Aug. 24 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home.
