Mr. Bennie Carver Ussery, 82

Mr. Bennie Carver Ussery, 82, of Hazlehurst, died Aug. 15 at his residence.
Mr. Ussery was born Dec. 1, 1941, in Jeff Davis County.
He is preceded in death by his parents Benjamin “Pete” Ussery and Plura Rollins Ussery and his daughter Kathy Ranae Ussery.
He was a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church and an electrician by trade, but he had many other interests. He was truly an outdoorsman. He enjoyed farming, gardening, and cutting grass, he always wanted his grass cutting to look manicured and professional.
He loved all animals, but he especially enjoyed working with his goats and was a very good shepherd to them. He had a big, giving heart, was kind of quiet, never said a lot, but he always had his own opinion and defiantly would let his family know. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them, and his constant companion, known as Lucky. He will be greatly missed by all.
Survivors include his wife Elizabeth Morris Ussery of Hazlehurst; sons and daughters-in-law Hal and Kay Ussery of Baxley and Greg and Debra Ussery of Hazlehurst; sister Voncile Livingston of Hazlehurst; grandchildren Heather Ussery Miles (Tyler) and Hollie Ussery Causey (Colin); great-grandchildren Carver Miles, Zoey Miles and Dutton Causey; and several nieces and nephews.
