Mrs. ‘Crickett’ Lawana Taylor
Ms. “Crickett” Lawana Taylor, 68, of Hazlehurst, passed away July 9 at her residence.
Cricket was born April 7, 1956, in Hazlehurst.
She is preceded in death by her mother Sarah McCall Corley and sister Donna Corley and was a member of Northgate Baptist Church.
She loved collecting frogs (just not the real ones) and she remembered the ones that would gave them to her. She enjoyed being the first to tell any news in Jeff Davis County. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren, and sometimes she even loved her children.
Survivors include her son Lance Taylor (Nina) of Hazlehurst; daughters Denise Baucom (Doug) of Hazlehurst and Heather White (Courtney) of Hazlehurst; father Hudson Corley Jr.; brother Terrell Corley of Hazlehurst; grandchildren Hogan White (MaKayla), Sgt. Garrett Baucom, Lanzi Taylor, Josie Taylor, Hagan White and Hudson Fletcher; great-granddaughter Averie White; several beloved cousins.
Services were held July 12 in the chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home with the Rev. Jinker Horton and the Rev. Tommy Daniels officiating.
Interment followed in Hazlehurst City Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Steven Revell, Matt Dawson, Chad McCall, Chad Baucom, Gary McCall and Branon Wyatt.
Music will be rendered by Joey Reagin.
Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home was in charge.
