Mr. Ronald Estus ‘Randy’ Thompson, 72

Mr. Ronald Estus “Randy” Thompson, 72, of Hazlehurst passed away July 28 at his residence.
Mr. Thompson was born Oct. 15, 1951, in Jeff Davis County to the late George Thompson Jr. and the late Allene Herrin Thompson. He was a member of Hazlehurst Church of God and was owner of South Georgia Machine Shop and a machinist at Thompson Machine Shop. Mr. Thompson was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He thoroughly enjoyed watching Nascar and Georgia football.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by sisters Cindy Thompson and Faye Thompson Toler.
Survivors include his wife, Sara Thompson of Hazlehurst; daughters Carrie Toler (Tommy Carter) and Tonya (Josh) Taylor all of Hazlehurst; sisters Ann (Stan) Reynolds of Hazlehurst, Lauraleen Williamson of Montezuma, and Carolyn Varnadoe of Hazlehurst; brother Johnny (Debbie) Thompson of Wray; and grandchildren, Brilee Toler and Abby Toler.
ervices will be held Aug. 1 at 3 p.m. at Hazlehurst Church of God with the Rev. Charles Carter, the Rev. Jeffery Spell and the Rev. Hugh Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in Hazlehurst Memorial Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Jamie B. Toler, Johnny Thompson Jr., Derek Reynolds, Randy McRae, Don Hayes and Jay Taylor.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
