Mrs. Janice Elaine Wood Brown, 70

Mrs. Janice Elaine Wood Brown, 70, of Lumber City passed away June 10 at Jeff Davis Hospital.
Mrs. Brown was born Jan. 12, 1954, in Hazlehurst to the late Tramel Wood and the late Vona Mae Strange Wood. She was a member of Lumber City Baptist Church where she was a longtime pianist. Mrs. Brown was a retired educator with Jeff Davis Board of Education and was preceded in death by a sister, Sue Simmons.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years Bobby Brown of Lumber City; daughters Amy (Jimmy) Googe of Lumber City, April (Billy) Merritt of Douglas and Autumn (Chad) Underwood of Hazlehurst; brother Jerry Wood of Hazlehurst; grandchildren Austin Brewer, Cooper Gruszka, Ethan Brewer, Case Merritt, Chanleigh Underwood, Trevor Gruszka, Chaston Googe, Grayson Googe, Jaci Underwood, Chloe Merritt, and Ross Underwood; and great-grandchild Maddox Brewer.
Services will be held June 12 at 11 a.m. at Lumber City Baptist Church with the Rev. Ashley Tyree, the Rev. Brad Waters and the Rev. John Daughtry officiating.
Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Austin Brewer, Ethan Brewer, Chaston Googe, Grayson Googe, Trevor Gruszka, Cooper Gruszka, Ross Underwood, and Case Merritt.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
