Ms. Sally May Carter Ray, 75

Ms. Sally May Carter Ray, 75, of Hazlehurst, passed away at her residence May 15.
Ms. Ray was born Feb. 6, 1949, in Bacon County.
She was preceded in death by her parents Earlice Carter Sr. and Dorothy Googe Carter; husband James Robert (Bobby) Ray; daughter-in-law Stephanie Carter; and brothers Earlice Carter Jr. and Roger Carter.
She was a homemaker, such a good cook, and a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church. She enjoyed watching TV, loving on and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Her children said she was a great mama and she will be sadly missed.
Survivors include sons Rodney Gene Toler of Hazlehurst, Ted M. Carter of Hazlehurst and stepson James Ray Jr.; daughter Christy Rea of Hazlehurst; stepdaughters Kim Ray Mullis and Beth Ray both of Hazlehurst; brothers Keith Carter and Charles Carter both of Hazlehurst; sisters Joyce Smith of Brunswick and Olidia Carter of Hazlehurst; grandchildren Tyler Toler, Justin Toler, Carlie Carter, Whitney Rea (James King) and Jordan Dailey (Ash Dailey); great-grandsons Colton King and Little James King; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held May 17 in Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Chuck Morgan officiating.
Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home was in charge.
