Mr. Joey Morris, 62

Mr. Joey Morris, 62, of Hazlehurst died April 23.
He was the son of the late John Henry Morris and the late Ola Mae Gibson Morris. He was preceded in death by his sister Gail Morris and son Henry Lee Morris. Joey was a member of Hazlehurst Church of Christ. He loved music, and always had a smile or a laugh to share. Although handicapped from birth, Joey never let that slow him down.
Survivors include son Joe Daniel Morris Jr. (Mellissa) of Hazlehurst; daughter Tammy Morris (Jessie) of Hazlehurst; brother Carlos Morris (Luann) of Moody, Texas; sister Wanda Griggers (Joe) of Griffin; mother of his children Martha Harrell of Hazlehurst; caregivers Tammy Morris, Amy Durrance and Martha Harrell of Hazlehurst; several grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A memorial service will be held May 25 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home. Minister Bobby Lairsey and Jimmie Ryles will officiate.
