Jackets named to All-Region Tennis

The seven boys and girls tennis coaches in the region voted to honor the Region 1-AA tennis award recipients for the 2024 season, including Player of the Year, the Doubles Team of the Year, and the All-Region Teams.
All four of the Region 1-AA boys teams advanced to the second round of the state playoffs. Cook’s Caleb Pezent finished the region slate undefeated at the #1 singles line and was awarded the Region Player of the Year for the boys, finishing his senior season with the top honor. Jeff Davis’s Cain Johnson and Caidon Diaz finished the season 7-0 in region play and were honored as the Doubles Players of the Year by the coaches of Region 1-AA.
The girls teams of Region 1-AA were also successful with all four teams advancing to the second round with region champion Jeff Davis advancing to this year’s State AA Championship match. Jeff Davis’s Lexi Girtman, finishing the year unbeaten in region play, took the top honors as the girls Region Player of the Year. In doubles, Jeff Davis took the top doubles award on the girls’ side with Noel Munoz and Aleah Parker finishing region play undefeated to win the girls Doubles Team of the Year.
