Tennis team has busy week

Jeff Davis High’s tennis teams had a busy week last week.
JDH Tennis traveled to Worth County March 12. The Jeff Davis Yellow Jacket boys and girls both defeated the Rams with a 5-0 sweep.
JDH Tennis hosted Bleckley at home March 14th. Jeff Davis boys lost a tough one 1-4 on this date. However, our Jeff Davis ladies defeated Bleckley 5-0.
JDH traveled to the annual Golden Isles Tournament hosted by Glynn Academy March 15. Both the girls and guys played Colqitt in the first round. Jeff Davis boys defeated Colquitt in a very close match with a 3-2 win. Jeff Davis girls defeated Colquitt with a 5-0 win.
On Saturday, Jeff Davis boys faced off against Pierce County in the second round. (This was their 3rd time facing the Pierce boys, going in 0-2 against them.) The guys played a very competitive match for a 3-2 win against the Bears. The ladies faced off against Lowndes County in the second round of the tournament. In probably the most competitive match of the season, the girls defeated Lowndes 3-2, with tiebreakers on multiple courts determining the outcome.
For the championship round the boys played host school, the Glynn Academy Terrors. The boys fell to a very good Glynn 0-5. JDH guys came home as runners-up in the Golden Isles Invitational.
The girls matched up against Wayne in the final round to play for the championship. Jeff Davis ladies pulled out another 5-0 score to win the tournament championship. They made JD proud this weekend, not only on the court, but off the court.
