Mr. Thomas Gordon Martin, 78

Mr. Thomas Gordon Martin, 78, of Hazlehurst passed away peacefully surrounded by his family.
Mr. Martin was born in Rome, Ga., to the late Alton Martin and Earnestine Nixon Smith. Mr. Thomas was a trucker by trade and enjoyed every moment. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alton Martin and Earnestine Smith, wife, Carol Martin, brother, Frankie Smith and stepfather, George Frank Smith. He was a simple man but loved life and he will be missed by many.
He is survived by son Chris Martin (Dawn) of Leesburg; sisters Kathy Whitt, Peggy Parrott (Jimmie), Gina Vance (Jimmy); grandchildren Austin Martin, Macey Martin, Bethanie Kiger, Evan Pate; great-grandchildren, Preston Hardegree and Zander Smith.
Services were held April 14 in the chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home with the Rev. Hal Jeffcoat officiating. Interment followed in Hazlehurst Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Evan Pate, Mark Parrott, Jay Miller, Shayne Butts, Jason Parrott, Josh Butts and Nathan Callahan.
Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home was in charge.
