Johnson announces DA bid

John B. Johnson, former Chief Assistant District Attorney for District Attorneys Glenn Thomas Jr., Stephen Kelley and Jackie Johnson, announced that he has qualified and will run for District Attorney in the May 21, 2024 Republican Primary.
“As a Prosecutor, I have worked closely with law enforcement officers in every County and City department and with victims of crime to make sure that old cases get prosecuted and victims received justice,” stated Johnson. “I have prosecuted over 400 criminal trials, more than 50 murder cases, more than 12 death penalty cases, child molestation cases, rape cases and other crimes. I have tried death penalty cases and murder cases in all of the counties in our circuit. I have the experience, common sense and maturity to be an effective District attorney.”
Johnson served as Judge of Jesup Municipal Court for 20 years and has been recognized twice as the Outstanding Assistant Prosecutor for the State of Georgia.
