Mrs. Shirley Floyd Chavis, 60

Mrs. Shirley Floyd Chavis, 60, of Hazlehurst, passed away March 16 at Memorial Hospital in Savannah.
Mrs. Chavis was born Sept. 27, 1963, in Palatka, Fla.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Floyd and Elanor Mattie Meadows Floyd, great-granddaughter, Avery Prescott, sister, Cindy Floyd, and brother Clayton Floyd.
She was a homemaker, and she took her job very seriously. She loved to cook, watch TV, go fishing, spend time with her family, and spoil her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband Glenn Chavis of Hazlehurst; daughter, Amy Floyd Waters of Hazlehurst; son Mark Eric Shepard Jr. (Christina Carter) of Hazlehurst; brother Ricky Floyd of Hazlehurst; sister Sandra Adams of Lumber City; grandchildren, Lexus (Tyler) Prescott, Kolby Waters, Ebon Waters, Erin Shepard, Kristin Shepard, Annabeth Shepard, Taylor Halligan and Bailey Chavis; several nieces and nephews.
Services were held March 20 at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of Wainright-Parlor with the Rev. Keith Yawn officiating.
Interment followed in Hazlehurst Memorial Cemetery.
All family and friends served as Honorary pallbearers.
Active pallbearers were Kolby Waters, Ashley Waters, Chandler Prescott, Austin Lewis, Ryan Brewer and Andy Griffin.
Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home was in charge.
