Blue team wins two

 

Jeff Davis Middle School’s Blue Team won a pair of lopsided games over Swainsboro last week, beating the Tigers 16-0 Monday in Hazlehurst and 10-3 Friday in Swainsboro.
In Monday’s win, Peyton Jones was 3-for-3 at the plate with two singles a double and two RBI, and Jeremiah Davis homered twice and drove in three runs. Gunner Partin had a pair of singles and two RBI, Jacob Laney had a double and three RBI, Tye Rea tripled and drove in a run, Zayne Chaney and Henry Richardson both had a single and an RBI, and Brady Stevers singled.
Seth Saunders picked up the win on the mound. He pitched two innings, giving up two hits, walking none and fanning 4. Stevers threw an inning, giving up no hits, walking two and striking out one.
In Friday’s game, the Jackets erased a 3-1 deficit to win 10-3.
Davis had a single, a homer and three RBI, Gino Torres had a double and a triple, Rea had a single, a double and two RBI, Trey Ramay had a single, a double and one RBI, Gino Torres had a double, a triple and an RBI, Stevers had a single and a double, Laney had a single and an RBI and Jones singled.
Laney pitched two innings, giving up two earned runs on three hits, walking three and striking out none. Torres went four innings, blanking Swainsboro on five hits, a walk and four strikeouts.
