Tennis teams have a busy week

This past week the tennis Yellow Jackets had a busy week on the road.
The Yellow Jacket Netters traveled to Fitzgerald Tuesday. Both the boys and girls varsity teams swept Fitzgerald with 5-0 victories. Coach Mary Katherine Brown and Alan Mims bragged on the play of junior Brye Woods at his number one singles spot. “Brye works incredibly hard on the court, and he has really grown to be more of an aggressive player closing out points when needed.”
Thursday, the Yellow Jackets traveled to West Laurens to face off against the Raiders. The boys lost a close match with a score of 2-3. The girls pulled off another sweep for a 5-0 victory. Coach Brown and Mims boasted about the play of doubles duo Aleah Parker and Noel Munoz at the first doubles position. “They worked really hard to execute volleys, keep rally balls consistent, and they were able to adjust really well on a windy day.”
JDH Netters head to Ware County Thursday for a 4 p.m. match. JDH will also head to Valdosta for the Wildcat Invitational Tournament this weekend. First match will be Friday at 4 p.m. with two more matches Saturday,.
