Ms. Genethel Toler Dukes, 87

Ms. Genethel Toler Dukes, 87, of Hazlehurst, passed away Feb. 29 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was a homemaker, a loving mother, grandmother, and she loved her Lord Jesus. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church for over 40 years. She enjoyed being outside working on her flowers and gardening.
Ms. Dukes was born April 18, 1936, in Jeff Davis County.
She is preceded in death by her parents Ed and Hattie Toler, beloved husband I.L. Dukes, daughter Marie Taylor, grandsons James White and Charlie Dukes, sisters Mary Cothren, Gurtis Conley, Carnell Bush, brothers, Doc Toler, Bill Toler, Lenard Toler and George Toler.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Aaron Dukes (Tammy), Silas Dukes (Sheila), Charles Dukes (Sandra) and Bobby Dukes (Pam), all of Hazlehurst; sister, Josephine Groover; eight grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Services were held March 2 at Bible Baptist Church, with the Rev. Manford Gilbert officiating.
Interment followed in Hazlehurst Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Daniel Dukes, Tyler Dukes, Lee Dukes, Billy Dukes, Gage Dukes and Sam Dukes.
Music was rendered by Mike and Pat Tippett.
Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home was in charge.
