Mrs. Donna Jean Griffin, 72

Mrs. Donna Jean Griffin, 72, of Hazlehurst passed away March 1 surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Donna was born in Alma to the late Mr. Frank Smith Jr. and Betty Jean Mixon. She was a homemaker and loved reading Romantic novels. She was known to be a great cook and she loved the holidays, especially Christmas. She enjoyed watching soap operas with her mama and enjoyed being at the Griffin retirement home. She is preceded in death by her brothers, Danny Smith, Tony Smith, Paul Smith and Ronnie Smith.
She is survived by her sons Corey Griffin (Carolyn) of Baxley, Rickey Griffin (Liz) of Hazlehurst; brothers Glenn Smith (Pam) of Mt. Vernon, Gary Smith of Lumber City; sisters Janet Burkett (Johnny) of Lumber City, Vickie Murray (Kenneth) of North Carolina; grandchildren Heather, Megan, Kevin, Chelsea, Chavis, Cherish; great-grandchildren Jacie, Emma, Anna Kate, Mackenzie, Reece, Ella; and great-great-grandchild on the way.
Services were held in the Wainright-Parlor Chapel March 4. Interment followed in Hazlehurst Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Thomas Colter, the Rev. Randy Manning, and the Rev. Rick Brown officiating.
Pallbearers were Kevin Griffin, Chavis Griffin, Shawn Smith, Craig Smith, Tommy Williams, and Shane Smith.
Honorary pallbearers were al family and friends.
Music was rendered by the Rev. Rick Brown and his wife, Julie.
Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home iwas in charge.
